This knife is an expression of precision, material understanding, and classical craftsmanship, with every detail carefully balanced. The handle is composed of ebony and stabilized mammoth ivory, together creating an elegant contrast between dark and light tones. Filed inlays of silver and bronze add subtle ornamentation, highlighting the high level of craftsmanship. The bolster and pommel in silver frame the handle, completing its harmonious and exclusive appearance.
The blade is ground from carbon damascus from Balbach – the DSC® Carbon model. This type of damascus steel is forged from multiple layers and is characterized by high strength, edge hardness, and the distinctive pattern that stands out clearly on the surface. The result is a blade that is both beautiful and highly functional.
The sheath is made of dyed, hardened leather and adorned with a carved and embossed pattern in Nordic Viking style. The closure button, crafted from mammoth ivory, visually links the sheath to the handle and gives it a personal touch.
The handle measures 120 mm, and the blade is 92 mm long – a well-balanced size that sits securely in the hand and is suitable both for practical use and as a collector’s piece.
This knife was awarded 2nd prize at the Danish Knife Association Championship in 2019 – a recognition of the high level of craftsmanship and the overall aesthetic quality that defines this knife.
