This knife is crafted with great respect for materials, details, and traditional craftsmanship. The handle is composed of stabilized mammoth ivory and stabilized poplar burl, two materials each with their own natural texture and color variations. The filed silver inlays create an elegant and precise transition between the elements, while both the bolster and pommel in solid silver emphasize the exclusive overall impression.
The blade is ground from carbon damascus from Balbach – the DSC® Carbon model. This type of steel is renowned for its high sharpness, hardness, and the characteristic damascus pattern, which emerges from forging multiple layers of steel. This gives the blade a lively appearance and strength, making it suitable for precision work.
The sheath is made from dyed, hardened leather and decorated with a carved and embossed pattern in Nordic Viking style. The button closure is crafted from stabilized poplar burl, creating a visual connection to the handle and completing the overall design.
The handle measures 115 mm, and the blade is 95 mm long – a carefully considered and well-balanced size, both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
The knife was awarded “Best Knife” at Viborg Knife Club’s season finale in 2019 – a recognition of the high level of craftsmanship and the overall expression that defines this knife.
