Handmade Knife with Mammoth Ivory and Stabilized Poplar Burl
A handmade knife featuring a light and harmonious handle, combining natural white mammoth tusk ivory, more than 10,000 years old, with stabilized poplar burl. The calm and elegant appearance of the mammoth ivory creates a beautiful contrast with the lively structure and distinctive grain of the wood. Inlays of satin-finished pewter bring the materials together and add a subtle decorative detail to the handle.
The blade is carefully ground from stainless Damasteel knife steel. The steel's characteristic Damascus pattern gives the blade a lively appearance that complements the natural materials of the handle.
The knife is accompanied by a sheath made from hardened, compressed leather cut from the shoulder section of the hide. The leather is decorated with a hand-carved and embossed pattern in Viking style, giving the sheath a distinctive Nordic character and highlighting the traditional craftsmanship. The suspension button is crafted from white mammoth tusk ivory, creating an elegant visual connection between the knife and its sheath.
A knife where ancient natural materials, stainless knife steel and traditional leather craftsmanship come together in a harmonious and unified design.
